Question: what is your favourite part about being a microbiologist?

Microbiology is so interesting because you are trying to understand the connection between microbes and the diseases they cause. You get to grow bacteria and fungi in the labs, create models of infection, and use different drugs to try to prevent how these bugs attach and invade cells! Microbiology is a really diverse field, where you incorporate lots of different ideas – for example, you could use genetics, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, even programming in these experiments!

So if you’re interested in human health, infection, diseases, and treatments, Microbiology could be a cool field to look into!
